Rent a stand-up paddleboard. It’s quicker, easier and cheaper to learn than kiteboarding or windsurfing, and it’s relaxing and family friendly. Listen to live music and sip wine on a vineyard. When you’re soaking in the summer sun and drinking wine on the grounds of a vineyard, music just becomes sweeter. Several local wineries host live music on site. We recommend checking out Hood Crest Winery and Stave and Stone.
Get an espresso mud body treatment. When you’re vacationing, a visit to the spa is a must. Try the espresso mud body treatment at Spa Remedease at the historic Columbia River Gorge Hotel. Shop on Oak Street. Hood River’s main drag has everything from upscale jewelers to independent bookstores to art galleries. Oak Street has great food, great coffee and great shops. It’s a great way to spend a few hours.
